![]() ![]() ![]() I've got a few 18650 flashlight hanging around and while they are fun they aren't my goto. What are you even talking about? Why would I need something with a 18650 in it for camping? I want a small compact headlamp that is as light as possible. The Storm 400s PowerTap Technology enables you to quickly and easily access maximum brightness with the touch of a finger. Maglites aren't EVER mentioned anymore because of how much better everything is. The headlamp has our Brightness Memory feature, which allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to the default, full power setting. If it emits a light, why do I need added features Well, after malfunctions, ripped head straps, batteries wearing down and limited light options, I decided to upgrade to the Storm headlamp by Black Diamond. After using Black Diamonds Storm for several various outings I don’t know if there is a better headlamp available. That kind of stuff just isn't available for these "normal" lights.īlack Diamond and Pretzl are decent lights, but I don't think their names get thrown around in the high quality segment. I have always looked for the cheapest option with headlamps. If you are anything coming close to a real/hardcore camper, then switching to 18650 lights make so much sense as it opens up the door to so many better lights with different LEDs and tint colours. But it is totally worth it when even 2200mAh cells are considered low in terms of capacity. ![]() The only problem is that you would need to get a new charger for 18650s (some lights/batteries come with a usb charging port). Not to mention 18650 lights can easily go up to like 600 lumens with a turbo of 1000 lumens. Once you go with 18650's tho it is hard to go back to using AAA lights. ![]()
